ROW80 – 2020 R1 Goals

I’m annoyed with WordPress right now and have been since they introduced the block editor. I’ve been wanting to take a pen name anyway, so I’m trying Blogger out.

Remember when I posted that pretty list of 20 goals, many of which were daily for 20 minutes?

Yeah, well, there’s not enough time in my day for them because I’m not a robot!

I know. I’m shocked too.

Anyway, I’ve had to tweak things for the round.

There are two things I want to mainly focus on this year more than anything and those are writing and French. So here are my Round 1 goals with an update on how I’m doing so far:

FINANCES

– 260 minutes of budgeting: I have been working on this weekly.

FITNESS

– 60 home-cooked meal days (3 meals = 1 day): I have only had one lunch that I didn’t make. I’m actually aiming for one 1 day of eating out per week versus nearly every day.
– 60 workouts: 3/7 possible so far, but I’ve been doing a lot of decluttering.
– 5/20 lbs lost: This is tracked on Wednesdays, so more to come.
– 5/20 kata memorized: I haven’t started this yet, but we went through every kata we know at our first class of 2020 on Sunday.

FRENCH

– 1,820 minutes of French: I have done well over an hour here.
– 60 French words learned: I’ve learned 2 so far.

HOME

– 1,820 minutes of chores: After several afternoons, I don’t think I’ll have trouble meeting this, though actually keeping track of time spent is hard.
– 60 pages digitized: I’ve done 1 here, but recycled a few others.

PIANO

– Instead of 20 minutes daily, I’m going to do two 30-minute periods on weekends. Part of my declutter had me take apart a table I wasn’t really using in my dining room and relocating my piano to my dining room. I really love this change!

SELF-CARE

– 1,820 minutes of knitting: 0, but I usually do this while watching TV and haven’t been watching much TV. I’m not worried about it.
– 1,820 minutes of planning: Since I had to setup my new planner late, due to it coming from China, I’ve been spending a lot of hours on this. There might be one or two more habit trackers to add at some point, but it’s mostly set and I can just use it.
– 1,820 minutes of meditation: I’ve done about 80 minutes here.

WRITING

– 260 minutes of grammar: 0
– 60 new English words: 3
– 60 pages written (approx. 15000 wds): 91 words, but I have been planning my screenplay, planning my schedule, and decluttering like a fool.
– 5/20 books read: I’m about a quarter through Pagan Paths by Pete Jennings.
