May Flowers

An anniversary.

The May sun on my skin.

Hair tousled in the breeze.

Conversations had with ease.

Love comes from deep within.

The heart light and airy.

The tulips are in bloom.

Smiling in disbelief.

Our paths made up of Steam.

Where sunlight truly beams.

A commander in chief.

Gone away is all gloom.

Little tension remains.

Yet it’s no barrier.

Spring: growth and renewal.

You watched me. A jewel.

I watched you carry her.

Time will begin again.
