The faithful friend stands ready to serve.
I wonder if he ever dreams of other things…
Does he realize that his life is his,
though connected to mine?
There are other needs not being met.
We are dependent on each other’s love.
Does he know?
We also need to be each other’s friends.
Loving friends are so much better than
just lovers or just friends.
