2025 – Week 12

This week began with something awful. My dad needed to bring his dog to the vet for the last time. Kona was such a character. He loved eating paper money, barking at people walking down the street (especially the mail carrier), stealing my brother’s socks, and inspecting presents. He would often try to share his treats with his stuffed animals. Always on the go, a lot of the pictures of him have a blurry image.

I’m going to miss that little fellow. I am hoping he meets up with Peppi on the rainbow bridge and finally has someone to share his treats with. He can go steal mom’s socks too.

I’ve started eating a more plant forward diet. I’m not cutting out animal products completely, I’m just eating less of it. So far it feels like a good change. Since Christmas time, I’ve lost about two inches on my waist.

In PWHL this week, Montreal’s star goalie, Ann-Renée Desbiens got injured in a similar way to Maschmeyer. This is really bad for Montreal and for Team Canada, who will be competing in early April.

I decided to go for it on the loveseat because I had nowhere to relax and that wasn’t helping me get things done. I paid for delivery, which I don’t usually do, but I felt that the modest amount was worth it because IKEA is actually a bit far from my condo and all the time and energy for me to get it in and out of my car was worth it. I’ll saved all that for making space for it and got to assembly and enjoyment much sooner. It took 4 hours to put together. I’m really enjoying this change. I got a narrow bookshelf that is providing a bit of privacy and smart storage. I have more floor space after this. I was also really in the mood to get at this because it’s finally spring! Except for a couple of days of winter’s dying gasps.

Having a proper place to sit was so good for reducing my recently high stress levels.

We managed to survive this week’s Pathfinder gaming session. It will soon be time to level before we make our way to the room of death. What other monstrosities will we meet before then? This week was a powerful mummy, a monstrosity made of 6 traitorous souls, and a crazed former guardian.

Goal Setting & Tracking

My main goals for this week were to ensure things were handled at work before I was off for staycation. I’ll have 10 non-work days to spring clean and to work on my kitchen renovation.

  1. Daybed – take photos, measure, disassemble. ✅
  2. Living Room – reorganize things to have a better temporary kitchen set up. ✅
  3. Loveseat – order and assemble. ✅
  4. Dishes zone – improve this as it’s not currently working well. ✅
  5. Narrow Bookshelf – assemble and place. ✅
