2025 – Week 18

Monday was a stressful day as I was scared the federal election would result in many bad things. Luckily, it didn’t go that way. Thank you to the voters who sacrificed to ensure Canada stays a sovereign nation!

Tuesday was a long day with an info session about coming changes to the client account I work on. There was a lot of information to digest, but the future seems bright. I was completely exhausted and opted to stay home from karate. But I did deal with a reno piece that was hindering the floor prep. A bent, rusting nail that was installed upside down for some reason. I had to drill a bigger hole to get it out because the older steel was too hard to cut. Then, I had to fill the hole.

The bastard nail that I eventually conquered.

Wednesday was “move the car for lot sweeping day” at my condo building. They never give enough notice for things like this and they book it on days the food bank has customers, so it’s always a pain in the butt. There aren’t enough options of where to move vehicles to in the interim. Also, do you think they give a time range of when it will happen? Nope. A week of notice isn’t enough time. There are differently abled and elderly people in the building who may not leave their unit all week or check email to get the notifications. They’d likely see more compliance if they gave two-weeks.

I decided to take that evening off of extra-curriculars to focus on the reno. We’re getting some really hot days intermixed with the cold ones, and I don’t want to be trying to paint while it’s sweltering and I have a fridge in my dining room. Though it will actually be my reading room, it’s official purpose is a dining room. Sometimes I think it should be my office once again, but it felt too cramped when it was.

I didn’t get much done during the week on the renovation, but I got the last of the mudding done on the weekend. The other half of the kitchen will hopefully be much faster since I shouldn’t have to deal with mouldy drywall. I say shouldn’t because anything can happen in a renovation. With any luck, I’ll be able to wash the walls and begin painting them next week. Maybe if I’m lucky, I can order the backsplash and have it in by the long weekend.

Saturday evening was spent at a burlesque event with a friend. There were many excellent performers from Rouge Studios. On Sunday, I got new Mizuna cleats from Baseball Town in advance of softball starting. My other cleats were a half-size too big for me and they haven’t been helping me run properly. The young man at the store worried I would be upset that he had to get me a junior size, as if that has never happened in my life…

Sunday’s Pathfinder 2e session went well. We took the orphan werewolf children to the town necromancer because his daughter is a dhampire and there was nowhere else for them really. After selling, we got some upgrades and headed back out to the dungeons where we handled one ooze before having to call it a night.

May you all enjoy the Lusty Month of May!
