Week 28 began with accepting the delivery of my 2 base kitchen cupboards from IKEA. All 21 boxes!

While I awaited their delivery, I got the entranceway very clean.
I had cleared space for my tires in my bedroom, but they were so annoying to get into the building that I figured out there was a spot to put them in my little storage area by the elevators. I learned that tires without rims are light which is mostly good for moving them around except that they kept falling off my cart because the slightest vibration made them move around. This is better anyway because I’d rather have the cabinets in my bedroom than tires.

I placed my other empty boxes with the IKEA ones. It made sense to me.
My entranceway temporarily housed my dirty laundry this week to help me catch up on the laundry, but also to help me get more of my bedroom clean. The dentist was also on the list of things to get done this week.
The tasks left on the renovation right now are all very noisy ones and I planned those for reasonable times of day. I try not to be a jerk neighbour as much as possible. I began the sanding on Tuesday, but my battery pack needed recharging part way through. Yes, I should’ve checked before I started, but I didn’t.

I was also overloaded in a lot of ways this week at work, so I needed time to relax too. There were many days where I felt like pulling my hair out would be more productive than dealing with hydra emails. I hope I don’t have to take care of two portfolios often in the future.
After work on Wednesday, I visited Gutsies. It was basically gluten free heaven. I bought a croissant, a lemon square, a strawberry rhubarb square, pierogis, and a large chicken samosa. I decided I wanted to go back Friday at lunch time to get some more things for my birthday weekend.
Thursday was the first day back at karate. It wasn’t easy. We do these combined crunch leg raise exercises as part of the warm up and they are always tough to get through. Push ups are still hard for me. Hopefully, someday I’ll be better at them both.
I was away for softball this week as I picked up my friend and we headed to the country to meet up with other friends for my birthday weekend. It was a palindrome birthday. That’s where the number is the same both ways it’s written out. I had a perfect weekend. We mostly just relaxed and chatted, but it was so peaceful away from the city. We took their dog for walks and he has grown into quite the character. I was happy to see him doing so much better than when he was first rescued.

We also had a brief fire. It was buggy and very warm out, so we didn’t want to sit out there for long. The land was dotted with fireflies in every direction. Between them and the sun shower that happened earlier in the day, my birthday felt magical. And to be surrounded by loved ones was a big part of that too. I felt so lucky to have these women in my life.
