I survived Monday, not that anything was particularly bad, but I’m not fond of Mondays.
I also survived Tuesday, but was annoyed that there are now AI bots in dating apps. I don’t need or want this. Dating is hard enough without fake chatters. But these companies don’t actually care about people finding their person. The harder it is and the longer it takes, the more money they make.
Right now, I’m feeling a bit stressed because some things are in flux at work, there’s my kitchen sitch, and it’ll be awhile yet before the PWHL’s teams are done with changes. Add the stress of a belt test and a choir performance and this week has been a lot. After this, choir will be paused until the fall, we have the long weekend off of softball, and karate will be on a break for a couple of weeks, so I’ll have a brief window to just focus on the kitchen. But I’m really tired, so that has been making it hard too. I’m not eating as well as I’d like because of all of this.
I just continued my rewatch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Wednesday. I was tired from karate the day before and went to sleep early.
I was thankful for my massage therapist on Thursday as my belt test had me quite sore. I passed and will get the new belt next week! We had our final choir practice before our performance on Sunday. We had pizza and made bracelets.
Friday held our first loss in softball. Hopefully that doesn’t affect our standings too much. We’ll likely have to play that team again at some point. After softball was the team barbecue. Good food and fun chats were had. The social time outside of the games helps us play better together.
I made some progress on the kitchen renovation though not as much as I’d like. I dealt with the rotten area on Saturday. Unfortunately, Plan A wasn’t meant to be.

Really, I just wanted to clean the tiles, fill an area, prime, then get onto floor tile install, but I could tell as soon as I pressed on the one tile to clean it that it was entirely rotten. I took a break to think and to get my character mini designed for my GM for the next campaign we’re starting soon. Then I got this crap handled and it was 6PM by then.

There’s more to do on that area like spray with biocide to be sure any lingering badness is gone, but this is renovation life in a nutshell. Sometimes people wonder why it takes so long, but there are issues to investigate and Plan B.
There is a lot left to do, but I won’t be doing a ton early in the week because the humidex has it feeling like 44 Celsius or 111ish Farenheit.
Sunday’s choir performance went well. It was hard to sing The Village by Wrabel. A number of us struggled to keep going through it because it is such an emotional song for the community and hits many of us due to the experiences we’ve had being accepted as queer. Our set list also included Children by Billy Porter, Lesbian Break Up Song by Safia Nolin, a Tegan and Sara medley, Come to My Window by Melissa Etheridge, and Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan.
The rest of Sunday held some Buffy and some Minecraft as my friends got a new server up for us to play on.
