2026 – Week 28

I spent a lot of this week in a bad state. I had become ill. It seemed likely that I had caught something at the concert, except nothing over the counter worked on it at all. And several things, high in sugar, worsened it. Strep was ruled out by urgent care, but it still didn’t make sense that it would be flu in July. It happens, but it’s exceedingly rare. So after writing all the symptoms and everything tried down, I met with my doctor and was put on Nystatin for oral thrush. It’s unfortunately banana flavoured, but the cough began reducing by the second day and I was able to eat a lot more food and I actually fell asleep at some point. Before that, I felt like I was going to need to admit myself to get knocked out!

I had hardly been able to eat or sleep for the entire week. The only thing that has made me feel sicker is Covid.

I’ve purged most bad foods from my home and I have gotten a lot of healthier options. I’m following the Candida Diet to help ensure I fully recover and never have this happen again. There are a few things I need a new allergist for. The allergy nasal spray I have is a corticosteroid. Due to having Sjogren’s Syndrome, I’m prone to dry mouth. Those two things together are very bad and increase the likelihood of getting oral thrush, especially if one isn’t eating the best. And I haven’t been. That’s my fault. I blame the renovation, but there are many healthy options that I can still cook despite the reno. Anyway, I’m getting back on track here. And hopefully, someday soon, my left ear will unblock. It’s causing me balance issues, which has me avoiding martial arts.

At least I had Dreamlight Valley Honeyglow Woods to cheer me up. This adventure pack has Pooh, Eeyore, and Piglet. I’ve found them all, but haven’t fixed all the problems there yet.

I’ve also had World of Warcraft Classic to keep busy with while I’ve been too sick to do much. That’s part of how I spent my birthday on Sunday. I also watched The School for Good and Evil. It was interesting. I prefer the witch movie of my teens, The Craft. Later, I watched Into the Blue. Hopefully, the rest of 45 is more fun.

And that was that. A week full of coughing, little sleep, hunger, and some relaxation.

Catch you on the flip side,

Rae
