2026 – Week 34

Monday and Tuesday were fairly productive days at home. I got a few things organized and some chores done. I began gathering a number of reno items onto this wheeled cart I have. Floor and backsplash tiles, adhesive, grout, paint, stain, and some scrap wood will all be able to be moved around as needed now and I’m not tripping on those items anymore. I also got a small table moved. There is a lot left to organize and clean up, but I hope I’ll be able to get that done in Week 35.

I also visited Fabricland to get some items needed for fixing one of my martial arts tops and for sewing a bag for my shinai soon. First, my craft desk needs to be cleared off. I plan to use it for studying as well, so it’s on the more pressing list of items to get done.

Wednesday held a bank meeting to finalize some financial paperwork for school. More to do on that yet, but things are moving along.

On Thursday, I gathered up my equipment, my work badge, and prepped some other things for going into the office the next morning.

Friday was my last day at work. Much of that was spent on goodbyes and a going away lunch. Then I relaxed.

I finally reached this long awaited day. I felt so happy. And tired. It’s been a long time coming. More on that on my Ko-fi in September.

I mainly relaxed on the weekend. By Sunday, I was dealing with a cold. It was likely due partly to The Let Down Effect. Basically after a period of high stress, it’s common to catch a minor bug as your system begins to calm down. It may also have been partly due to travelling on transit or hugging people.

I’ll take it though. My home and my life feel like my own once more and that matters more to me than the minor inconvenience of a cold. I missed sword swinging, but tried out Wuthering Waves. My laptop doesn’t like something about it. It struggles on the lowest settings. Not sure what to do about that but a friend recommended the PS5 version instead. Perhaps that will be the plan.

Catch you on the flip side,

Rae
